STATUS UPDATE:
23/6/2008 - confirming shipping...
24/6/2008 - Order Placed

So. I am craving some of the new Carnaval Diabolique oils. And decanting--small, precise, detail-oriented work--makes me happy. It really does. So does mailing packages out.

...you guys know where this is going, right?

Yep, decant circle. And as usual, I'm happy to make it a group order when I'm ordering from the Lab.

EDIT: Since it came up; yes, I will continue ordering bottles as long as people keep ordering imps. :)

Fiddly details
I'm placing the order on June the 23rd. I expect they'll be in to me by mid-July and mailed out by the end of the month at the latest, so there will definitely be time to acquire and test them before the Carnaval goes away in September. Payment before ordering is hugely preferred, but I understand if it's not possible--I just need to get paid before I hand over/mail you your oils.
All prices in $US.
Paypal's probably easiest all around; [livejournal.com profile] torrain at rogers dot com, and if you're using Paypal, please add $0.25. If you're paying me in Canadian cash, I'll e-mail you and let you know what it comes to once I've placed the order.
For up to twenty imps, shipping in Canada is $2; for the US, $2.50; for elsewhere, $4.
For an additional twenty imps, it's an extra $1 to Canada and the US, and an extra $2 for elsewhere.
If you order a bottle, there are two ways I can ship it to you.
The first is mailing it in a padded envelope, with minimal bubblewrap (so it's not too thick to count as oversized mail). [livejournal.com profile] ultharkitty bravely agreed to subject her Candy Butcher bottle to mailing this way on my last group order, and it arrived safely. I am still a little nervous about this, since I worry about them being sent back for being too thick or them breaking, but I have been accused of worrying too much. If you go with this option, treat "one bottle" as "ten imps" to calculate shipping charges.
The second way is mailing it as a Small Packet, which has coverage, extensive packaging, and delivery confirmation. This shipping covers any imps you get and any number of bottles. It runs:
* $7 to $10 for Canada, depending on province
* $7.50 for the States
* $9 for elsewhere.
If you can meet me and arrange for a pickup (Ottawa), there's no shipping charge.
Decants mailed in their traditional plumber's tape/plastic baggie/bubble wrap/padded mailer outfit. Imps from the Lab are the same, minus the plumber's tape (I've never had a problem with a Lab imp leaking, and so figure that there's no call to tape their imps, but I'll do it if you ask me to).
$3.50 for an imp; half-imps available for $1.75.
If you want an imp of each Act IV scent except the Grindhouse Ladies, it's $30 for the nine of them.
If you want an imp of each of the Grindhouse Ladies (helpfully indented in the list below!), it's $47.50 for the fourteen of them.
If you want an imp of each of the Wunderkammer curiousities, it's $44 for the thirteen of them, and you get a sixth of an imp of the Screaming Mandragora.
[livejournal.com profile] bpal_feedback's here. BPAL forum feedback here.
I can't think of anything else.

The Oils!
==Act IV: The Interlude
Stormclouds over the Midway
The tents that line the path appear distorted, out of proportion, and cartoonish, their angles arching menacingly. The Calliope's eerie drone lilts above the swelling chatter. Wine-colored storm clouds are gathering, and the scent of incense and ozone is thick in the wet air.
Thunder-charged ozone, plum-colored incense smoke, opium tar, and wormwood.

Knucklebones
Scooping up his winnings and shaking his head, the victor makes a soft 'tsk' noise as he reaches towards the loser's chest. Pressing forward, his hand moves through cloth, flesh, muscle, and bone to extract the beating organ. Tossing the heart onto the ground, he says to you, "Mind handing me those bones, buddy? I've got a game to run here."
Black musk, bay rum, lime fougere, orange blossom water, gin, and tobacco.

A groveling figure is crouched before a woman draped in purple-black clerical robes. The woman's eyes are filled with righteous hellfire, and she extends a hand in benediction to the man who has fallen prostrate at her feet.

The Grindhouse
A buxom Venetian woman standing before a huge black and red striped tent. Her head is inclined towards a dapper, leering man, and they appear to be sharing a private joke. He bows, and walks into the tent with a swagger. A sign flashes above the tent flap in letters that seem to be aflame: The Grindhouse, Dead or Live Girls.

Ornately carved wooden poles support swaths of drooping black lace and blood-crusted burgundy velvet. Grapevines and ivy creep over the beams in the tent and curl like cocoons around bodies that hang upside-down in the caliginous gloom of the tents. As you pass, a feral, white-haired man hoists a tall-stemmed crystal glass of deep red liquid in a toast to you.

I am so terribly terribly sorry. I've run out of imps--not the full ones, but the empty glass vials I'm decanting into. I've only got one left.

Would you be willing to wait an extra week or so for the Pickled Imp? I'd be happy to make it a full imp for the inconvenience I've put you to, and I'd mail it to you at my expense.

ETA: for clarification, the Illustrated Woman should go out tonight00it's only the Pickled Imp you'd have to wait for.

Yes of course I dont mind waiting. Its really nice of you to treat me to more Pickled Imp! Im not greedy - whatever you feel like sharing is totally okay with me :D If you want to save on shipping, you can hold the Illustrated Woman for me until the other one is ready of course - I dont mind. :)

Is everything okay? I havent seen hide nor hair of the Pickled Imp here yet, but I did get the Illustrated Woman about a week ago.
Friday, August 22nd, 2008 02:17 pm (UTC)
Everything's okay; I just haven't gotten my decanting supplies in yet. Pilot Vials is usually pretty quick to deliver, and I'm actually getting a touch worried, so I'll be calling them if my delivery isn't here by Monday. I'll let you know as soon as they come in and the Pickled Imp gets sent out.

Spoken to Pilot Vials, and the order should be here soon. Meantime, I'm checking around to see if someone local can drop a couple of empty imps in the mail beofre then. I've got a line on someone from Montreal...
