(Obtained by the open library/put on shuffle/play/enter song titles next to criteria. Bored, went through it three times, as I refused to type in anything I wouldn't listen to all the way through. Given what I'm willing to admit I listen to, I am secure in the knowledge that I am certainly not coming across as cool.)
Opening Credits: "20 Minutes of Oxygen" by Darkest of the Hillside Thickets (I'm still quietly suspecting this is a Judge Dredd reference); "Not Just a Soldier" by Rikk Oberf from the Fans! musical; and (breaking my geek cred) "Amphetamine Logic" by The Sisters of Mercy.
First Day At School: "fight on the subway" by Varja Enterprises; it's one of the ten tracks they had up to go with the release of the Fates Worse Than Death rpg. Kind of catchy.
Falling In Love: "DeadAlive" by TheDeepEynde. Alternately, "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" by Starship. Or "Deviltown" by the Groovie Ghoulies. Heh. All three of those are kind of cool.
Fight Song: "Thraddash - Culture 19" by the Precursors. Fits. *All* the Thraddash cultures are about fighting, except 3. I think it was 3.
EDIT: I have been corrected. Cuture 3 were so terrifyingly brutal they maimed *themselves* to terrify their enemies. 14 were the pacificts.
Breaking Up: "Sex Bomb" mashup of Tom Jones and Mouse T by Nero Wolf. What the *hell?*
Life's OK: "A Kiss is a Terrible Thing to Waste" by Meatloaf; "This Maniac's in Love with You" by Alice Cooper.
Mental Breakdown: "Vox" by Sarah McLachlan; "Big City Nights" by Fozzy; "Objects in the Rearview Mirror May Appear Closer than they Are" by Meatloaf. All oddly appropriate in their own ways.
Driving: "The Wreck of the Edmund FitzGerald" by Jag Panzer, or "Is Nothing Sacred Anymore" by Meatloaf.
Flashback: "The Innsmouth Look" by Darkest of the Hillside Thickets. I met her at the EOD... She sank her dewclaws into me...
Getting Back Together: "Dancing in the Dark" by Bruce Springsteen.
Wedding: "Packin' my Bag" by White Cowbell Oklahoma; "My Girl Bill" by Jim Stafford; "Bed of Nails" by Alice Cooper.
...I should perhaps begin to worry.
Birth of Child: "Possession" by Sisters of Mercy, or "Midnight at the Lost and Found" by Meatloaf. (My playlist doesn't seem too suited to this... Look, I'm not mentioning the ones I don't want to listen to. I say nothing about how appropriate what I do want to listen to is. Apparently I'm on an 80s kick.)
Final Battle: Nothing. (After three run-throughs, I got "Born to Run" by Bruce Springsteen.)
Death Scene: "Born to Raise Hell" by Motorhead (with Ice-T and Whitfield Crane), or "Out of the Shadows" by Sarah McLachlan.
Funeral Song: "Ghostbusters" theme by Ray Parker Jr., or "Black Planet" by SoM.
End Credits: Nothing. (After three run-throughs, "Cocaine Cowgirl" by Matt Mays & El Torpedo.)

Feels very odd to be doing this now. And since it's tking forever to finish, I have just decided to snip the ones i haven't written answers to yet.
Italicized duplicate responses.
1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
Proposed.
(Also got my ear pierced. Properly. And a haircut that would be a mohawk if it was narrower and had gel or something. These are secondary.)
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Didn't make any. Probably not.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.
5. What countries did you visit?
None. (It's been a slow year.)
6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
A healthy Toby-cat.
7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
July 17. Not so much the date, more the event. (Again, see 1. Hint: not earrings.)
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
See 1.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing of note, IIRC.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
theweaselking.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Mostly, figures that
theweaselking posted news stories about.
(This isn't a duplicate entry. I'm proud of that.)
14. Where did most of your money go?
Rent. Then my cats.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
See 1.
16. What song will always remind you of 2006?
Can't really think of one.
20. Howwill did you be spending Christmas?
Breakfast with John's family. Went home and curled up with a movie, IIRC. Diablo may also have been involved.
21. Howwill did you be spending New Year's Eve?
Dinner with John's family. Went by Angela and Antra's for their New Year's Party. First time in years I haven't spent midnight quietly at home, preparing to wash the dishes.
22. Did you fall in love in 2006?
No.
23. How many one-night stands?
None.
24. What was your favorite TV program?
Deadwood, no question about it.
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
The Prestige, with an honourable mention for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Less slacking.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
Not paying attention. Not paying attention. Not paying atten-- oh, hey, today seems like a day to spend two hours fussing over how I look. Not paying attention.
Also, painted toenails. A lot.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
"You were my sunny day rain
You were the clouds in the sky
You were the darkest sky
But your lips spoke gold and honey
That's why I'm happy when it rains."
- Jesus and Mary Chain, "Happy When It Rains"

Right. This is the "list ten weird habits or things about yourself" meme that has been floating around. I think I have only ever tagged people once, and I see no reason to do it a second time.
- I don't like tagging people for memes. I don't mind being tagged when it happens, but I hate tagging people, especially when the words "have to" come up. It sends me right back to memories of grade-school.
- I put off anything that could be considered an aesthetic change to myself for ages. Weeks for a haircut. Months for dying hair. Not even gonna start on how long I've been wanting to get my damn ears repierced.
- I am not nearly as educated as people sometimes assume I am, especially when it comes to history. (No-one assumes I'm reliably educated on pop culture anymore.)
- I can listen to the same song on repeat for hours and not get bored.
- I can't get a decent night's sleep unless I read a little last thing before I turn out the light.
- I think I may give up collecting pamphlet comics--they cost a crazy amount and don't last very long at all and very few are really good for rereads--and just stick to trades. Mostly when I buy an issue these days, I do it because I want the series to have a chance to run long enough to get turned into a graphic novel, or because Diamond's cutting titles that don't have minimum sales. This makes me feel old and sad.
- I can and do pick apart total cultural junk. This helps keep some horror movies and stories interesting. It's also become reflexive to a great degree--I assume it's a result of being an English major.
- I am wondering if somewhere back along the way, this meme said something about ten weird habits or things that most people don't know about you. This seems incredibly boring.
- I love horror. I really do. I waffle between thinking this is perfectly normal and thinking I'm morbid, and overall spend far too much time on the question.
- I've spent a good dozen years at least looking for a couple of poems I read once, maybe five years apart, in different books, and I can't find either one. Anywhere. At all.

I think this is the first comic strip I have ever put up at work.
It's not a funny one, but it's a true one. Here.

1. YOUR ROCK STAR NAME:
(middle name and current street name)
Kathleen Cooper.
2. YOUR MOVIE STAR NAME:
(grandfather/grandmother on your dad's side, your favorite candy)
(Uhm... you're not going to believe this, but she was only *ever* referred to as "Grandma Moffatt" in my hearing and I am *so* not going through my Dad's old letters and birthdays cards right now.)
Ms. Bluewires.
3. YOUR "FLY GIRL/GUY" NAME:
(first initial of first name, first three or four letters of your last name)
F. Mof.
4. YOUR DETECTIVE NAME:
(favorite color, favorite animal)
Black Cat. (I think this one might be mislabelled. It really sounds like a pulp hero name generator.)
5. YOUR SOAP OPERA NAME:
(middle name, city where you were born)
Kathleen Ottawa.
6. YOUR STAR WARS NAME:
(first 3 letters of your last name, last 3 letters of mother's maiden name, first 3 letters of your pet's name)
Mof Hen Tob or Mof Hen Ang, take your pick.
7. JEDI NAME:
(middle name spelled backwards)
Neelhtak.
8. PORN STAR NAME:
(first pet, street you grew up on)
Goldie First.
9. SUPERHERO NAME:
("The", your favorite color, the automobile your dad has)
...but he's *dead*.
And "The Black Urn" just sounds like a pretty lame very obscure-culture-specific superhero.

Must confess, I was rather thrown by the number of names I recognized.

Among the LJs I make some attempt to keep up with, there are a total of 83 unique interests.
In the case of 16, it surprised the hell out of me to find that these were unique interests.
26 interest me. 16 sound interesting.
I have no idea what 10 of them mean, but they sound really pretty.
And I just plain have no idea what 23 of them mean.
(All counts subject to post-midnight error.)

Oh, again with the total tangent: I got my approval the other day, and am now officially in the Unrelated Bone Marrow Donor Registry. Still cannot donate blood, but can at least donate something.
Also, ( raise your hand if you're surprised--oh, no hands. )
I own every single one of the games mentioned except Pie Shop. I'd ask if anyone knew what it was, except the quick Google has turned up enough information that I think I can make a pretty good guess.
(I found Chill's setting to be a little crunchy, FWIW--lots of mechanics, a general impression of over-definition which generally works against the sensation of uncertainty that's so important to horror--and Kult's to be... well... mind-boggling. Leaves me with the feeling that the only way I'll internalize it is by sitting down with a copy of the book, a funnel, and a home trepanning kit.)
