In the spirit of trying to ensure a fair and balanced view regarding a particular piece of writing[1], I have decided to try reading Left Behind.
...yeah, I can't believe it either.
I have been getting immense enjoyment out of Fred Clark's weekly deconstruction of this (apparent) piece of shite, and I figure I should take a look and see if it's actually as bad as it sounds. I cannot help but feel that I might be missing something, elsewise.
(I mean, I cannot say that reading Last of the Mohicans was in any way enjoyable, but it did provide excellent grounds for my appreciation of Mark Twain's "Fenimore Cooper's Literary Offenses". It's the same kind of thing.)
And it seems unfair to laugh at the evisceration of that book if I haven't actually taken a look at said book first.
I mean, I know it's set in a world where one-third of the population of earth (including all the children) disappeared a week ago, but perhaps summations like
Perhaps.

[1] I tried "work of literature" and "work of fiction", but somehow neither seemed to fit.

Steve, who agrees with the assumption that every literate human being on the planet would be fully acquainted with every detail of Buck's supposed death because what else could they possibly have to read or think about one week after the Event, comes up with a plan:are somehow unfair.
Perhaps.
