4 a.m. from the wrong side again. This is getting ridiculous.

Oh well. The cat's warm. And it's a chance to see what people have been rambling about. [livejournal.com profile] ursulav assures the world we will hear if (when) Athena does something stupid.

I assume you all know the tune to American Pie. If you don't...

...actually, if you say don't, I likely won't believe you. Damn my cultural blinkers.

The filk is from [livejournal.com profile] flickgc. She would prefer people quote a bit and then link (and do check out her post, because she filked the whole song, and I haven't quoted anything like all of it). If you like it, please let her know.

*cough*
A long, long time ago...
I can still remember how
Our LJs used to make us smile.
And I knew if Brad had his chance,
That he could make those servers dance,
And maybe we'd be blogging for a while.

But InterNap made LJ shiver,
There were no pages to deliver,
No gossip on our browsers
About who lost their trousers...

I can't remember if I cried
When I saw my page request denied
But I had to face the world outside,
The day that LJ died.

I cannot think of a stupider thing to do than kick a bad habit,
try to pick it up again out of basic boredom,
and then get miserable about failing.

Self-imposed drama, very sharp rocks, fucking waste of time.

I'm gonna go sketch.

When attempting to take your mind out ofa rut, reading this works.

Does nothing for your general outlook, optimism, faith in humanity, or any other constructive thing, though...

Allotriophagy

(1) A depraved appetite; a desire for improper food.
(2) The vomiting of strange objects by someone who has been possessed.

From the Greek allo`trios (strange) and fagein (to eat).

(My sister got me Robbins's The Encyclopedia of Witchcraft and Demonology for a belated Christmas present. This in addition to the candles which weren't belated.

(...now all I need is a bell...)
