Snow has returned to Ottawa, the damp fluffy stuff that packs down into a grease skid after about three people have walked over it.
More than three people walk over the route I talk to get home from work.
The first slip was not particularly bad, as I didn't actually fall, and just resulted in both my knees bending in odd directions (if the right one doesn't stop this funny throbbing by tomorrow, I'm calling the physiotherapist. I'm sure she can help--she did absolutely amazing stuff when I wrenched my knee over the summer--but I am not looking forward to the pain). The second involved landing hard on my right elbow. It's odd to have that painful a bruise without it appearing on the skin[1], and I'm sure I'm going to be even more tired of it after eight hours at work. Hopefully I can lower the armrest on my workchair.
None of this was helped, I think, by then walking the mile and a half to the postal outlet to pick up my package. (Not sure why it went there, rather than to the usual one; possibly it has something to do with coming in from Britain?)
On the plus side: said package was in, and contained more old Call of Cthulhu books. Including one featuring an adventure set in the Old West, which is good since I don't think it will require much tweaking if I am going to be running Deadlands this Sunday, and I won't have time to do much tweaking before then.
(On a tangentially related note: still cannot find steel ruler; still cannot score and cut out the Orne library cards. Drat.)

[1] I am sure it is just a bruise, as I accidentally whacked said elbow against the table over dinner, and did not curl up into a whimpering ball of pain on the floor. These are the kind of subtle diagnostic skills I am proud to possess.
